Monarchy on the move
Ferdinand III of Castile and León: Database
This interactive application allows users to view and filter King Ferdinand III’s itinerary using a dynamic table. The interface offers various controls that allow you to filter the information by day, month, year, location, and geographic parameters (latitude, longitude, altitude); the table updates in real time based on these filters. The results are displayed in a table that allows you to search, sort, and highlight certain entries, such as suspicious or forged documents. Users can adjust the column width and the number of entries displayed, as well as adjust the filters to explore the data in a flexible and personalized way, obtaining a clear and organized view of the places the king visited. By clicking on the headers of each column, the data is sorted in ascending or descending order, whether numerical or textual.
Below the interactive table, users will find notes regarding the sources of information.
In columns indicating the source of the diplomas, the cited sources were organized as follows: the author’s first and last initials, followed by the section of the text in which the diploma appears and the page number. When the document belongs to the king’s collection of diplomas compiled by Julio González, it is cited as follows: J. G. Diploma Number; Volume Number, Page Number.
Any further information regarding the construction of this route taken by Alfonso VIII can be found in the Historical Study section of this project.
